Safehaven Marine signs contract with DP World for two pilot boats

Safehaven Marine has announced that the company has signed contracts again with Dubai-based DP World to build two, top of its range pilot boats, the 18m Interceptor pilot 60 (photos) for their pilotage operations at the Port of Jebel Ali in the United Arab Emirates.

Jebel Ali is the largest port in the Middle East, and ranked the 9th busiest in the World connecting eastern and western markets with North Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia. The two new Safehaven Marine pilot vessels will be powered by Caterpillar C18 715hp engines, fully equipped for hot climate operations and capable of carrying 12 pilots and crew in comfort at an operational speed of 25kts.

The two vessels are due to be delivered towards the end of 2024, and will become Safehaven’s 62nd and 63rd pilot vessels built, successfully operating at ports in 17 different countries Worldwide.
